Beginning Nov. 20, Alaska Airlines will add nonstop service between San Jose, Calif., and the Los Cabos in Mexico. The carrier will fly three flights a week on the route, operating one round-trip flight each Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday on Boeing 737-700 jets.

"Los Cabos will be a welcome getaway this winter for our Bay Area customers," Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, says in a press release. "We are pleased to offer more service to Mexico, along with the new Hawaii service we've recently added from San Jose and Oakland."

The San Jose Mercury News notes that "Alaska — a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group — now flies to Austin, Portland, Seattle, and the islands of Maui and Hawaii from San Jose. Horizon Air, also part of Alaska Air Group, flies to Boise, Sacramento and Spokane from San Jose."
